Quantitative & Qualitative Research
Surveys were held for both caregivers and patients to obtain basic demographic info and preferences on current reminder tools and mobile apps in general. Our goal was to gain a better understanding into their day to day lives, their habits, and how Alzheimer's affects them with these tasks.
From our research we discovered the following:
- All of the patient's struggle with remembering the date
- They are more likely to remember events and people when presented with photos
- Most patients forget their doctor appointments
Inspiration & Moodboard
Inspiration for the app revolved around utility. Functional and organized apps lead the ideal design features. A feature that was important to us was the ability to mark lists and to-do's as completed. We also drew inspiration from colored "sticky notes".

Design Solution
- Create a digital app that allows the user to set up a personalized calendar with added images.
- Have a designated list section that offers a checklist feature with photos, as well as a medication list also with photos.
