Research & Solution

Surveys & Interviews

A survey was run from July 13, 2023 - August 24, 2023 via Crazy Egg and a total of 1,027 participants. This survey was performed to get a better understanding of the user's and their behaviors.
Demographic information was obtained as well as their reason for visiting the website and their satisfaction with the information they were searching for.

Heat & Scroll Maps

Targeting a single page on the website, heat and scroll map data was analyzed to observe how far the user's scrolled on the page and what components they were clicking on.

While observing this data, I noticed that the users were clicking on a static infographic and seemed to expect interactivity. This information was used to create an interactive version of this image for the user to hover over and view more closely.

Design Solution

- Update the mobile menu navigation.
- New advertisements for the blog pages.
- Create an interactive version of the infograph.

Information Architecture

Personas

Four personas were created based on the survey data.

Final Product

Previous Mobile Menu

The previous version of the site's mobile menu was outdated, had previous styling and did not match the new site. Additionally, the categories were very close together once expanded and left little room for mobile touch space.

Comps - new mobile menu

The new mobile menu matches the color theme of the site and has more room between each category. The search feature was upgraded and is now more prevalent than before.

Previous Blog Ads

There were two current ads were on the site's blog pages. One advertised the monthly newsletter and the other was for a free guide. Both of these ads were very small and needed to be updated. My goal was to create new versions of both ads that would grab the user's attention and produce a higher click through rate.

Comps - new blog ads

These redesigned blog ads feature a bolder and bigger look than before, as well as a new book mockup that is more realistic. Bolder theming and company presence is visible throughout.

Data Report

From the survey data, a report was created to highlight our user and their preferences. The following was highlighted:
- The users searching for specific info found it easily.
- Most users are over the age of 55.
- Increased brand awareness is required due to some confusion on the site.
